Privacy Policy

Kadhi is a music streaming platform for Uganda, built by NileSoft UG in Gulu. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can control it.

1. What we collect

When you use Kadhi, we collect:

Account information: your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Content you upload: audio files, video files, thumbnails, and any lyrics or descriptions you provide. These are stored securely and publicly served only if you choose to publish them.
Activity data: which tracks you play, how long you listen, which you skip, and which you react to or comment on. This helps us personalize your feed.
Device data: your preferred language, your theme choice (light/dark), and the app you use to access Kadhi (web or Android).

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your phone's other files, or any data unrelated to your use of Kadhi.

2. How we use it

To let you log in and keep your session active.
To show you music, personalize your feed, and remember what you've played.
To let artists see how many people listened to their tracks and how people responded.
To display your public profile (if you choose to make it public) to other Kadhi users.
To detect abuse, spam, and content that violates our community standards.

We never sell your data. We don't show third-party ads based on your activity. We don't share your email address with anyone.

3. Where your data lives

Kadhi runs on reliable, industry-standard infrastructure:

Neon — our Postgres database, holds accounts, tracks metadata, comments, and reactions.
Upstash — a Redis cache used for session handling and feed caching.
Cloudflare R2 — stores the actual audio and video files you upload. Content is served through Cloudflare's global network.
Render — hosts our API server.
Vercel — hosts the web version of Kadhi.

All communication with Kadhi uses HTTPS encryption.

4. Your rights

You can:

See your data — everything you've uploaded is visible to you in the app.
Delete your uploads — from any track you own, tap the menu and choose Delete.
Change your profile — your name and language can be changed anytime.
Request full account deletion — email us at the address below and we'll remove your account and all associated data within 30 days.

5. Content you publish

When you upload a track as a verified creator, it becomes publicly visible to other Kadhi users. You keep all rights to your music. You choose whether it's free, paid, downloadable, or view-only. You can unpublish or delete your content at any time.

We do not claim ownership of your music. We do not sell your music to third parties.

6. Children

Kadhi is not intended for users under 13 years old. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we'll remove it.

7. Changes

If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
